Doctor. [her voice instantly takes on a more chipper note, her happiness at hearing him evident] I'm not really sure, honestly. I'm used to you leaving, but I always know you're coming back. This time is different. This time I feel terribly lonely.

What does one do when one is lonely, Doctor? I'm used to waiting, but it's different in this body.

People leaving is always lonely. [He's smiling, gently, making sure the compassion and empathy carries across in his tone.] You and I know that better than most.

[He pauses for a moment, really thinking about it] I think you go and spend time with the people still here. [So... contradictory, isn't he? Considering how lonely he was when he was pulled from.] Rose and I are still here. Amy, too. And Jack, if he doesn't make you too uncomfortable.

[He does pause, though, thinking about what she said. About talking, about being... well, lonely. If anyone knew the pain of losing people, of being lonely, it was them.]

Well, considering how often I get into trouble, I'd say it's really only a matter of time until he does something to land right back in here. In the meantime~!

[she grins a bit, some of that smugness returning, before her expression grows more somber, affectionate.]

You silly, stupid man, you have given me so much more than you realise. Besides, all I've ever wanted is time with you, to be with you. And maybe run a little. I admit more often than not I've wanted your companions gone so it's only us, but at least now I'm the one you can run with.
